1. What this site is. PlainStub provides general tax information and estimation tools for personal, non-commercial use. By using the site you accept these terms.
2. Not professional advice. Nothing on this site is tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice, and using this site does not create a professional relationship of any kind between you and PlainStub. PlainStub is not a tax return preparer and does not prepare, review, sign, or file any return or form for any user.
3. Estimates only. Calculator results are estimates based on the figures you enter and the published sources cited on the page. They are not a determination of your tax, your deductions, your credits, or your refund, and they cannot be relied on to avoid penalties. You are responsible for the accuracy of any return you file, whatever tools you used to prepare it.
4. Law changes. Tax law, IRS forms, and IRS guidance change, sometimes during a filing season. Pages carry a last reviewed date. A figure that was correct on that date may later change, and the current IRS instructions control.
5. No government affiliation. PlainStub is a private publisher. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Internal Revenue Service, the U.S. Department of the Treasury, or any state tax agency.
